The short answer
Put Legora first when the key task is structured review across many documents or negotiation inside Word. Put Whisperit first when the key task is connecting a spoken instruction, the matter record and a useful first draft.
- Legora is our first evaluation choice for collaborative review tables.
- Whisperit is our first evaluation choice for a Swiss team's voice-led matter workflow.
- For research or multilingual quality, run your own jurisdiction-specific test. Neither vendor's breadth proves an accuracy advantage.
Legora also advertises reusable Skills and editable deliverables in project workspaces. Matter context is not exclusive to Whisperit; compare the complete handoff. [1]
Its Mobile app and Lists also address continuity and coordinated tasks. Include these in the offered scope before deciding whether Whisperit improves the team’s daily process. [2] [3]

Whisperit: keep the answer connected to the matter
A recreated demonstration with a fictional matter. Test amended dates, missing files and the source behind each obligation. This matter summary does not establish bulk-review parity with a competing data room.

The handoff is where value appears
An AI demonstration usually stops after a useful result appears. A lawyer's work continues: verify the clause, decide whether to accept the suggestion, communicate the exception and carry the answer into the final document.
For a deal team, that handoff may happen in a table and then in Word. For a litigator in a multilingual practice, it may happen from a dictated account of events into the case file and a letter. Evaluate where the work actually lands. A feature that saves a minute in generation can cost five in transfer and formatting.
This is why we would not call Legora a generic chat tool or Whisperit a transcription app. Both descriptions miss the buying decision. The relevant comparison is the full process, including the people who check the result.
Where Legora is better
Legora's published review workbench is explicitly built around rows of documents, review questions and source inspection. Its collaborative controls include review states and locked cells. Those are valuable requirements when multiple reviewers must agree what has been checked. [4]
If that is the work your team performs every week, we would choose a Legora pilot first. Whisperit should not claim parity until it demonstrates the same required controls on your actual review. A summary across a folder is not automatically a replacement for a controlled diligence workbench.
Legora is also the stronger documented starting point for teams that insist on completing drafting and redlining inside Word. Its add-in supports document work and playbooks there. That differs materially from generating a document elsewhere and exporting it. [6] It is possible to prefer an external workspace, but the distinction should be visible in the comparison.
Where Whisperit is worth choosing
Whisperit's case is strongest when a matter accumulates documents, instructions and correspondence, and the team needs to keep turning those inputs into work. Its published assistant uses matter context and reusable instructions. [11]
A useful evaluation starts with a real handoff: a lawyer records instructions, an assistant prepares the document, and a partner checks the facts and wording. Measure how often each person must explain the context again. If a connected workspace removes that repeated assembly, it may be the better purchase even when another product has a stronger standalone review feature.
For Swiss practices, the processing configuration can also affect fit. But “Swiss” is not a substitute for a data-flow review, and it is not proof that a product produces better Swiss legal analysis.
Do not give either vendor a free win
Language capability is a good example. Whisperit emphasizes the languages of Swiss legal work. Legora advertises translation and drafting tools. The number of advertised languages tells you little about whether a specific clause preserves the client's rights after revision.
Research needs the same discipline. Ask which sources the product can search, which full texts you can open, what your licence includes and how current the material is. A familiar publisher logo may represent a connector, a licensed collection or a regional offering. Resolve that distinction in writing.
Security requires current evidence as well. Legora publishes certification and enterprise-control information. Whisperit's page describes its vendor audit as still in progress. That difference can favor Legora when procurement requires completed assurance. [12] Ask for scope and reports rather than treating badges as equivalent promises.
Compare the cost of the complete workflow
Get a proposal for the people who actually participate. Include assistants, occasional reviewers and any external access your workflow needs. Add relevant research subscriptions, administration and onboarding. A nominal per-user rate is a poor comparison if the licences cover different things.
We have not obtained comparable negotiated offers. Ask both vendors to show the proposed plan performing the pilot tasks. Confirm usage conditions, renewal terms and the export path before using price as the deciding factor.
A useful side-by-side evaluation
- Build a known review: use a set of agreements with known amendments and exceptions. Ask both products the same questions. Inspect whether missing answers are distinguished from negative answers.
- Produce the final document: make the required edits and deliver the Word version. Check numbering, defined terms, tables and visible changes.
- Test the voice workflow: dictate instructions with party names, amounts and a correction. Check whether the finished draft preserves the final instruction.
- Invite a second reviewer: ask them to explain why one finding was accepted and another rejected. See whether that decision remains visible.
- Repeat in the second working language: use a bilingual reviewer. Do not let elegant phrasing conceal a change in meaning.
Record total time, factual corrections and transfer steps. Agree what would make you keep the existing tool. A useful pilot can end with “stay where we are.”
Our recommendation
For structured team review and in-Word negotiation, we would evaluate Legora first. For everyday matter production that begins with speech and spans multiple people, evaluate Whisperit first. If both jobs are significant, price a combination as well as a replacement. Consolidation is valuable only when the consolidated workflow remains good.
Before moving a working review process, use the Legora alternatives guide to identify what must survive migration. A team buying specifically for transactions can use the M&A diligence comparison to define its acceptance criteria.
Questions buyers ask
Does Word export equal a Word add-in?
No. Export prepares a document for use in Word. An add-in performs work inside Word. Test the interaction your lawyers need.
Is Legora automatically better for every large review?
No. Our first-shortlist recommendation follows its documented workflow. File quality, legal questions, review controls and results still need a pilot.
Can we move our templates and review standards?
Plan to rebuild and verify them. Instructions, permissions, review decisions and source links may not transfer like ordinary documents.
