Our verdict: Libra can be the stronger publisher-and-Word choice
Evaluate Libra first when Stämpfli content and a Microsoft document workflow are central to the purchase. Evaluate Whisperit when the recurring problem is connecting instructions, matter context and reviewed document preparation. If the requirement is Swiss-only processing, compare the proposed configurations before running a confidential trial.
The vendor in this page is Libra by Wolters Kluwer at libratech.ai. It is the Libra named in Weblaw's challenge. Other similarly named services should not be substituted for its Swiss offer, pricing or data-flow documentation. [1] [2]

Whisperit: turn document changes into a reviewable note
A recreated demonstration with a fictional agreement. Inspect the changes and finish the review in Word. An exported comparison note does not establish a native Word add-in or portfolio-review capability.

Source basis: Libra's Swiss pricing and product material, with Whisperit's integration, research and security pages. The table describes published scope, not a hands-on performance comparison. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
Why the Stämpfli connection matters
A research tool is more valuable when it can show the authority the lawyer actually needs. For a practice that depends on Stämpfli works, Libra's publisher connection is a concrete reason to put it ahead of a workspace whose equivalent access has not been established. [8]
Do not reduce that advantage to the word “commentary.” Open a named work and the passage behind a material statement. Check the edition, the author's treatment of contrary authority and the link between that passage and the output. The licence should give the evaluator access to the source needed to check the answer.
Libra's pricing distinguishes base plans and a Stämpfli Legal Premium add-on. Starter mentions research based on Stämpfli content, while the add-on offers broader digital works. These descriptions should not be flattened into a promise that every base plan grants identical full-text access to every work. Confirm the actual rights and collection in the proposed offer. [3]
Whisperit should not be positioned as a substitute for that collection without evidence. If the firm wants a broader matter workflow while retaining its research subscriptions, compare the combined system honestly. A two-product arrangement may be preferable to losing a source that makes the work defensible.
Where the Microsoft workflow can win
Libra's Professional package lists Word and Outlook add-ins and a SharePoint integration. These are meaningful purchasing reasons for a practice whose working documents and knowledge already live in Microsoft tools. Starter is not the same integration package. [3]
Test whether an in-document revision improves the whole result. A requested change to an agreement should preserve defined terms, cross-references and the party's position. The lawyer should be able to see what changed and reject an inappropriate suggestion without reconstructing the document.
A SharePoint connection needs a separate trial. Include a precedent available to the evaluator and a restricted document outside their access. Ask about the supported permission behaviour, indexing schedule and update/deletion path. The mere presence of an integration name does not establish how it behaves in the firm's tenant.
Libra also publishes broader document review and workflow capabilities. It should not be described as a commentary-only product. A purchasing decision can favour it because source access, editing and knowledge reuse work together, provided the offered configuration demonstrates that continuity. [4]
Where Whisperit may fit better
Some practices spend more effort preparing the matter than editing the final document. Client instructions arrive verbally, evidence is scattered and a colleague needs a clear account of the facts, open questions and next draft. Whisperit's proposed fit is that connected daily process. [9] [10]
Test it using a matter the firm knows. Start with approved instruction material and several documents, create a factual summary and a client letter, then add a contradictory piece of evidence. Inspect whether the system updates the reasoning and keeps unresolved facts visible.
That is a condition for a recommendation, not a claim of superiority. If Libra handles the same complete process more effectively, select Libra. If the main output is a contract redline in Word, an export-based workflow may impose more work even when the initial draft is good. [5]
Swiss sources do not mean Swiss residency
Libra's Swiss material states that customer data are stored in Germany and processed within the EEA. It also asserts ISO 27001 certification and describes a professional-secrecy agreement. We have not reviewed the private certificate or contract evidence. [1]
A firm requiring all relevant processing to remain in Switzerland should not infer that requirement is met simply because the content and offer are Swiss. Compare the selected Whisperit Swiss Only configuration or another specifically documented alternative. Do not imply every EEA path is unsuitable for Swiss legal work; the firm's actual requirements determine the procurement condition. [7]
Separate research quality from data approval. Excellent answers cannot resolve an unmet residency requirement, and an acceptable data path cannot make incorrect research useful. Record both decisions explicitly.
Read promotional pricing in its actual scope
Libra's Swiss page displays annual promotional rates through 31 December 2026, excluding VAT: Starter CHF 960, Professional CHF 2,080 and Team CHF 2,560 per user per year. Starter has published message, upload and project limits; Professional adds the Microsoft features described above. [3]
The page separately displays the Stämpfli Legal Premium add-on at CHF 1,200 annually during the promotion. This draft does not infer an all-in total or a seat multiplier for that module; confirm the licence unit, collection and renewal price in the offer. A temporary promotion should not be presented as the permanent cost of the system. [3] [11]
Ask for a matched twelve-month proposal covering users, source modules, administration, integrations and support. Include subscriptions the firm retains, and measure the review effort in the evaluation. That produces a commercial comparison with a defined scope instead of a misleading entry-price contest.
A trial tailored to Libra's advantage
Choose a research issue where a named Stämpfli work materially informs the analysis. Include an official decision that appears to pull in another direction. Require the exact passages and an explanation of the apparent tension, then turn the result into the firm's actual Word deliverable.
Have another lawyer verify the sources and revise the document. Record whether the source entitlement, add-in and knowledge connection reduce work to a checked result. Compare Whisperit on the same job and proposed data requirements. Weblaw's anonymous public matrices cannot supply a named Libra score or replace this evaluation. [2]
For other Swiss source collections, read the Swiss legal research guide. If the main requirement is review inside Word, the CASUS comparison gives a different document-centred evaluation path.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the Libra in Weblaw's challenge?
Yes: Libra by Wolters Kluwer at libratech.ai. The draft uses that vendor's Swiss product sources.
Does Starter include the complete Word workflow?
The published table places Word/Outlook add-ins and SharePoint in Professional. Confirm the current tier and any additional subscription requirements.
When is Libra a better choice than Whisperit?
When the needed publisher content and Microsoft workflow produce stronger reviewed work, and the proposed processing path fits the firm's requirements. Whisperit's broader positioning should not obscure that advantage.
